How it started
With a fairly simple question. Why does nobody explain this normally?
When Marijke applied for Elterngeld herself, useful information in English was hard to find. There was plenty in German – only spread across forms, leaflets and forums.
The first English guide became calculators, month planning and an interactive application. Today we work through cases with parents and keep improving our tools around the questions that come up again and again.
What we do now
Understand it. Plan it. Get it done.
Not everyone needs the same amount of help. You can use the guide yourself, talk your case through with us or have the applications prepared for you.
We look at cases one by one
No anonymous hotline. You talk to someone from our advice team who has read your case before the call.
We prepare applications
Elterngeld, the required annexes and, if you want it, Kindergeld. You sign everything and submit it to the right office.
Not only online
Some questions do not come up in front of a screen. So we answer them elsewhere too.
We answer Elterngeld questions for free at birth centres and work with people who support parents before and after birth. We also give talks and workshops, for parent groups, birth preparation courses and teams at companies. Not every question needs a consultation. Sometimes a clear answer is enough.

We are not the Elterngeldstelle. And we do not pretend to be.
We help you understand the rules, make decisions and prepare your applications. The official decision always belongs to the responsible authority. You still sign and submit everything yourself.
